Basic Bash is really starting to hit it’s stride (Yay!) and this means that we have a few exciting events in the works and coming up soon! Seriously. Can’t. Wait.
With all the insanity going on (more on that later!), it’s important to start the day off on a great note! These are some of our favorite simple tips and tricks that we use to motivate ourselves and keeps us excited for the rest of the day:
1. Prepare for your day the night before.
Scrambling around is not a great way to start the morning and if you’re anything like me, it’s a surefire tactic that WON’T get you to work on time. The night before, list 3 things that you will accomplish tomorrow. Prepare your breakfast and lunch and check the weather. Think about your outfit (accessories and shoes included) based on the forecast while drifting to sleep. Now you can afford to hit that snooze button just one more time and have a much more streamlined start to the day. Bonus: Thinking about clothes is more peaceful and soothing than counting sheep, anyway 😉
2. Gratitude
Take a minute in the morning to count your blessings and soak in some of the morning sun. It may be the only moment of peace and contentment you get all day!
3. Listen Up!
Music has the ability to change your mood and lift up your energy! Listen to your current jam of this moment in the car or wake up to your favorite song a.k.a. your alarm! This is yet another simple way to use a few spare minutes to affect your mood for hours to come! I used to listen to music while I was getting ready for work and it made getting ready its own fun activity!
4. Exercise!
Whether you are doing a quick set of jumping jacks or a full cross fit workout, working out is a great way to start off the day feeling accomplished and gets your blood pumping for a truly energized morning! Combine 2-4 and start your day off with yoga to an upbeat rhythm 🙂
5. Set Your Sights High
Working toward our goals gets us fired up and ready to take on whatever else comes at us throughout our day. Get started on those tasks you listed the night before and the day is yours to tackle as you see fit!
