Happy Friday! We’re gearing up for another beautiful outdoor wedding this weekend but before we start our setup tasks, we wanted to tell you why getting a planner or coordinator is a must, no matter if you’re having a small, intimate wedding or a lavish weekend affair! You should have a planner, especially if you’re on a budget and here’s why!
1. Let your family savor the night
For budget weddings, we tend to see family or friends take on a lot more tasks throughout the wedding weekend to cut costs. In lots of cases, your friends and family are happy to help! To all of those wonderful people that offer their time and assistance, you are awesome!
One thing to remember is that if you take them up on their offer, you run the risk of having your friends or family miss something important on the day. We are glad to say we have not had a family member miss being in a photo or miss their cue for a special dance because they were busy setting out food or cleaning up the getting ready room. During the wedding day, everyone should be enjoying the night – most likely if anyone will be put to work on your wedding day, it’ll be your closest friends and family – and instead they will actually be running around, putting out fires, and making sure things are going well. You want everyone to have happy memories of your wedding day, not working!
2. More hands on deck!
You know what they say, more hands makes light work. (Or something like that. I’m not really very good at remembering sayings.) Part of the experience of wedding planning involves projects or just being really hands-on with planning! Projects can be a fun group project but if you are a bride that is prone to procrastination or happened to bite off more than you can chew, we can definitely help take any stress off your hands! And more hands make setup and teardown way easier!
3. It is a Cost Effective Decision
A planner does cost money up front. But a planner can help you make so many budget-related decisions that you may end up recouping all of it in the end! Did you know there are literally hundreds of photographers in Omaha? Wedding planners will help you find the perfect trifecta that produces good quality work within your budget and that you will get along with. (PS: did you know that the personality of your photographer is really important because you will spend more time with them on your wedding day than you’ll spend with your parents? – we’ve seen this with our own eyes!)
Wedding planners can tell you how many programs to print (you don’t need one per guest), rearranging your wedding timeline, making sure the sparklers you bought actually get used, refrigerating your breakfast food, and much much more!
Wedding days are hectic because there are so many moving parts, emotions are high, and when there are that many people involved (guests and vendors) things are bound to get a little disorganized, even if you’ve color coded the whole freaking thing. There are so many things that need to be done on your wedding day and they can all be handled by and delegated to a planner! So get one! You won’t regret it.
