This past week Angela heard her coworkers talking about how they were going to be purchasing their “last minute gifts” this past weekend. Angela lol’d to herself and thought, “this weekend is when I am going to be finally purchasing my FIRST-minute presents!” Sometimes (all the time) life gets absolutely too crazy to handle, and things get moved to the back burner. We thought other people might be in the same boat, so below is a list of gifts that don’t require too much thought, but are definitely gifts that the family and friends on your list would still love to receive!
1. Give the gift of “issues”
Magazine issues, that is! What were you thinking? There are magazines for every type of person out there, and getting a subscription for someone means that they’ll get to enjoy your gift all year round! You can even do e-subscriptions for most magazines, and the issues will get sent straight to your friend or family member’s device!
2. Next best thing to cold hard cash 😉

A gift card to your friend or family member’s favorite store or restaurant means that they can get EXACTLY what they want, on you! Some people think gift cards aren’t personal, but we think the opposite– if someone knows you well enough to get you free money to your favorite store, it doesn’t get better than that! 😉 Along the same line of gift cards, Groupon is another great option to get someone on your list an experience they can have at a later date– Corky Canvas painting, a cooking class, or a kick-boxing lesson!
3. Enable binge watching
Believe it or not, there are still people who don’t have Netflix or other TV streaming subscriptions. Bring that person on your list into the 21st century and be the enabler for them to start binge watching TV shows and movies. Then (bonus!!) you have someone to talk about Jessica Jones or season 4, episode 11 of Breaking Bad with!
4. Good eats and great drinks
It’s no secret that the holidays are a time of extreme eating, drinking, and (of course) napping in between. Giving the gift of wine or some delicious quick snacks (like the German roasted almonds you can get at the Westroads and are ONLY available during the holidays *drool*) is something everyone will appreciate!
5. For the long flight home
There are some times in your life where your phone is dead and you can’t charge it (middle of a 6 hour flight, anyone?), or you actually become sick of switching between the same 3 social media apps for hours and you just want to do SOMETHING with your brain! Gift a coloring book and some colored pencils or a fun Sudoku book for your well-traveled friends or family! They’re inexpensive and can provide hours of entertainment — especially for the family and friends in your lives who are already done with school and don’t get to color or tease their brains anymore. 😉
