Hello everyone! I am waking up this morning in sunny California, where the temps are at a toasty 50 degrees and there isn’t a snowflake in sight! In the meantime, we couldn’t wait to show you this post! We’re recapping the year with a month-by-month breakdown and this is already one of our favorite posts ever! 2015 was an amazing first “full” year of BBE fun, and was absolutely packed with work and play.
January
January started off with the Channel 94.1 Bridal Fair! We set up a pretty blush pink table, a floral backdrop, and had a display of our work on an iPad. At the fair we talked to so many eager brides and grooms about their big days and tried our best to raise the hype on our brand new business. Considering this was only a couple months after we officially launched BBE, the bridal fair was definitely a huge learning experience that we were able to take wisdom from to to help position ourselves for the rest of our year! The lighting at the Century Link Center just didn’t do our photos justice so we also decorated the table again in some better lighting!
Loving that gold and blush color scheme 🙂
February
February was such an exciting month! In addition to meeting tons of vendors, we were featured on Midwest Bride (see the lovely fall photo below)! Kaitlyn also took a trip to KC to go to Go Blog Social where she learned some marketing and social media strategy. She especially enjoyed honing her styling skills in a session taught by two of the leaders in the product styling industry!

March
In March, we had client meetings and went to a few vendor open houses where we toured some of the new industrial venue spaces Omaha has to offer. Of course, we have to also mention the amazing catering we sampled while at these events, because if you know us you know we love food!
April
April was the month of us believing winter was finally over, and the month of our floral workshop at Creighton! We taught around 50 students some basic floral design and they walked away with beautiful arrangements and lots of knowledge! We also did a citrus inspired shoot with some amazing vendors, just in time for summer!
May
We worked a fabulous outdoor May wedding this month! The Joslyn Castle was stunning and the tented outdoor reception was a classy and laid-back affair in Fort Calhoun. This wedding was a profound experience for us as we were able to watch our couple, their family, and their friends truly relax and enjoy each moment of the big day! Our hearts were filled to the brim after this 🙂
June
In June, we refreshed the website a little bit and debuted a new logo and updated website. Our citrus shoot was also featured on Ruffled blog this month (woot!) and we hosted our high school reunion! On the non-BBE related side, we went on a “glamping” trip (i.e. camping in an air conditioned cabin) during the “once every 17 year” cicada season.

July
We had a few big events going on in July – Daniel and I road tripped it to Virginia for the Designed and Styled Workshop! It was an amazing time of floral design, prop styling, and headshots!

August
August had a lot of behind the scenes craziness. It was filled with client meetings, open houses, and networking events! Oh, and did we mention the catering at the open houses? :p We still have dreams about AoF’s mac and cheese bar!
September
This was the month when we opened the Omaha chapter of the Rising Tide Society! It was an incredible experience to meet our fellow Rising Tiders and hear the various stories and insight from interior designers to birth photographers. We also created a fall styled shoot full of rich purples and a hint of a wine theme!

October
We got some new headshots done by Ashley Crawford! After being behind the scenes for all things wedding, it was fun to be the models for a day 😉 We also went to see a Husker game where the atmosphere was crazy! We had a few more meetings and open houses and yet another styled shoot that we’ll share soon! Here’s one sneak peek:

November
This month, we provided some lovely, earthy florals for a wedding and Kayla went back out the the East Coast to Creative at Heart and cultivated a fresh perspective on BBE, made new friends, and learned from industry leaders!

The Rising Tide Society’s activity for the month was philanthropy so we visited the Open Door Mission and helped sort toys and cold weather gear to distribute for Christmas!
December
To finish off the year, we helped Elegant Events by Kelley with a beautiful wedding in Lincoln!
It is crazy how quickly time flies, and it’s even crazier when you take the time to reflect and recount the things you did this year. We are so proud of ourselves for all that we have accomplished, and needless to say, we are so excited to see what 2016 holds!
