The new year is here so we, like most, are thinking up some goals to really focus on for the coming year. Reflecting on 2014, we must say that it was not what we expected. 2014 was so very good and so terribly bad – both of which we will get into eventually – and we hope that with some purposeful goal setting that we can make this year one of the BEST so far! Here are our top goals for 2015:
Embrace Today
It seems that ever since we could remember, there was always something that was holding us back. Something that, if it ended, life would suddenly get much better. After we pass the nearest speed bump, the rest of the journey would be smooth sailing. We may have felt this feeling during many finals weeks, for example. Or after graduating high school. Or after college. It seems the theme is that school, in a sense, limited our mindsets to ignore anything other than achieving that next goal, finishing that next assignment, acing the upcoming test. Which was good, but left little time for our own personal goals. (Hobbies? What are those?)
This year, we will try to embrace each day. After all, school is over! We WILL create fun plans for the future and actually make them happen! We will take each day or week or month to do something for ourselves and not wait until the next day or the next month – after things will supposedly “get better” and be “less hectic”. This year is a great year to embrace life and not put things on hold to wait for a “better time”. We have things to do, people to see, places to go and there is no better time than the present to do all of those things! In the words of Flint Lockwood from Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, “we’ve got diem to carpe!”
Let Go of Fear
There are so many actions done or not done out of fear. Fear affects us in so many ways including how we interact with others to how we approach tough situations to why we settle for normalcy instead of embracing change. We fear many things – not being good enough, being judged, and fear of hurting other people’s feelings. This year we want to put aside the fears, for many of those reasons but in particular, we want to set aside fear in our relationships with others. Fear of judgement pushes us away from others and leads us to be guarded in our interactions with other people.
This year, we are making it a goal to live more open lives. Basically, we want to express ourselves on a more regular basis (read: increase our social media presence) so that you all can get to know us on a more personal level. In terms of wedding planning, a wedding is one of the most personal and special experiences in a person’s life and for us to succeed, we have to get to know you. It is only fitting that you get to know us as well.
Be Awesome

2015 is going to be a year full of amazing adventures, cultivating relationships, and incredible growth! Why? Because we’re gonna make it that way.
