Happy Friday! Yay! We’re so excited to introduce to you this sweet couple – Cara and Andrew!
How did you meet?
We met outside Memorial Stadium on a game day. We had mutual friends and literally bumped into each other. Andrew ditched his group of friends and hung out with us bouncing around from tailgate to tailgate. We didn’t exchange numbers that day, but a few months later Cara was hanging out with the same group of mutual friends and someone said, “I’ll just text him!” Andrew came out with us that night and we’ve been together ever since.
How did he propose?
Andrew had arranged to meet some friends for happy hour in the Old Market. Andrew kept telling me that they were running late so they should head somewhere else. It was a nice day, but we were a little far from what Andrew said was the final destination, Mister Toads. I insisted on driving but Andrew made us walk quite a few blocks. As we were walking, a musician had waved us over to the corner of 11th and Howard. He started playing a song that we both love and at that point I was thinking this was a little fishy. Andrew said, “Let’s take a selfie!” We turned around and as we snapped a picture, the musician flipped his guitar over and there was a note that read, “Cara Will You Marry Me” Andrew has the best picture capturing the exact moment I read the note.
I turned around the make sure it said what I thought and when I looked at Andrew again he was on his knee asking me to marry him. It was perfect.
As if it couldn’t get better, we did end up walking to Mister Toads for a celebratory drink and I was surprised with a room full of friends and family. It truly was the best night ever.
Where are you going for your honeymoon? Why did you choose it?
We are going to Negril, Jamaica! We wanted to go somewhere we’ve never been and found a resort that looks amazing.
What is your favorite vacation you took together?
We went to NYC last summer and it was Andrew’s first time. It was pretty amazing, but we took a road trip to Kansas City about a year into our relationship to see Jack Johnson in concert. It wasn’t anything fancy, but it was very memorable.
What are your favorite shared hobbies?
We love happy hour! 🙂 We also enjoy going on walks or bike rides. Watching movies and definitely traveling.
What is your favorite restaurant and dish at that restaurant?
Cara: We love the South Pacific roll at Blue Sushi.
What was the first thing you noticed about the groom?
His eyes! I always said I would love to be with someone who had dark hair and blue eyes. It worked!
What was the first thing you noticed about the bride?
First thing I noticed about the bride was her smile.
