This weekend, we planned and designed our high school reunion! Here’s a recap of it all!
We have so many great memories from our years at Marian (especially because of our awesome classmates!), so we wanted the reunion to be another one of those great memories that conveyed a ton of fun and a hint of nostalgia. We brought in some décor from our past lives – branded Marian pens, pennants, and field day memorabilia and combined it with some other festive items!
The décor we chose for the reunion was fiesta-inspired and it fit our bright and colorful aesthetic! A papel picado garland was strung in the center of the room and a few giant balloons added to the informal feel of the evening.
The ‘2010’ (representing our graduating year, of course!) balloons were some of our favorite décor items. We put them in the hallway at the beginning of the event to guide people to the room and after everyone had arrived, moved them inside for a great photo op below!
Instead of warming the space (since it is summer), we used the fireplace and the space around it as a place where guests could stick their ‘favorite high school memory’ and read others’ memories as well! We loved reading memories about teachers’ words of wisdom, our class winning the coveted Field Day trophy (Juniors Live at 5, anyone?), and of course, quirky and hilarious moments with friends.
Sophomore Scout (and a compass costume, above!) made an appearance, as well! She had been hiding out in Angela’s garage for 7 years waiting for the perfect opportunity to be reunited with her class!
To complete the festive fiesta look, the kitchen and doorway were adorned with yellow streamers and the kitchen island was clothed with a colorful striped blanket!
It’s not a fiesta without some chips, pico de gallo, and guac! And it’s *really* not a fiesta without pineapples, margaritas and other delicious beverages. 😉
Cookies made fresh at Marian’s cafeteria were a highlight of the night as they are infamously half-baked – basically cookie dough with the most amazing ever-so-slightly-crisp outside 🙂
We love these ladies and were so incredibly excited to plan the reunion! From the venue to the food to the decor to the playlist and more – there was a lot of work to be done but everything came together fabulously in the end!
Speaking of the end, we ended the night by giving everyone an actual hard copy of our reunion group photo as a surprise souvenir! After multiple photo printing issues, we are so glad to have pulled it off successfully! This was definitely a highlight of the night!
We had such a warm and welcoming atmosphere which was perfect for the night’s festivities! It was such an awesome experience seeing what everyone has been up to, and we cannot wait to catch up with everyone next reunion. 🙂
