Elegant Purple Joslyn Museum Augustana Church Wedding

July 13, 2020 by basicbash Leave a Comment

This may be the longest blog post thus far! Megan and Justin’s wedding was a stunning way to close out 2019. We loved being a part of their day and their planning process. They were one of the nicest and most organized couples which we always appreciate. Working with them throughout the planning process makes it extra special to see all of our plans come to life on the wedding day. It never gets old 🙂

We included purple, blush, and gold elements everywhere and they turned out beautifully. Megan and Justin were so fun to work with and I loved incorporating their style into their wedding day. They had so many pretty details including a flower arch backdrop behind their sweetheart table, handmade soap favors at every place setting, a mirrored seating chart, signature drinks named after their cats, the groom’s cake was a pool table, the programs included their something old new borrowed and blue, the place cards were purple with gold foil and a symbol to indicate each guest’s meal choice. There were so many thoughtful elements included to make the wedding feel truly theirs and to let their guests enjoy the day.

Their wedding was on a beautiful fall day – 2019’s Husker bye weekend to be exact. (This made it more challenging to book vendors so book early if you are a Husker bye week bride!) Everything from the church to all of the photo locations to the reception was beautiful. Their first dance song was Valentine by Jim Brickman and Martina McBride which gets me in my feels every time. I was impressed by the amount of dancing overall but especially at the end of the night – it was a slightly surreal but thoroughly enjoyable experience to be in the Joslyn with blaring rap. It was incredibly difficult to narrow down the photos so please enjoy this super long post!
