A couple of weekends ago, we hosted our first floral workshop! Over 40 creative and intelligent minds learned, clipped, picked, and arranged beautiful bright table arrangements for their homes or homes away from homes.
Many of the students are in medical or business fields so floral arranging served as the perfect study break since it was an activity completely different from their daily lives and classes.
Floral arranging is an interesting creative outlet because you don’t need precise hand movements like you do in art, drawing, or calligraphy. You are not physically building something like you would be with sculpture or pottery but you are still creating something beautiful, artistic, unique, and visually stimulating with your hands.
A study done by Harvard said that looking at flowers first thing in the morning results in more happiness and increased productivity. So needless to say, flowers are a great mood booster! Check out all these smiles!
We had an awesome time planning, hosting, and teaching this event! It was fascinating to see everyone’s unique styles come out in their work!
Thanks to Creighton’s Graduate School Government for having us!
