I absolutely love strategizing and dreaming/scheming for the long term! You get to dream about big goals but with a dose of reality. Seeing what’s possible in a few weeks may not be too exciting but thinking about the potential of what you can achieve in a few months or a year is! It’s part science and part just hard work and going for it! Strategic is the key word. Work smarter, not harder is the key phrase.
Here are our goals for 2017:

We are pulling out all the stops to make our clients feel special and stress-free!
STYLE AND COORDINATE 1 STYLED SHOOT!
Our style has grown so much this year and shoots are the perfect way to show it!
GO TO 1 WORKSHOP/CONFERENCE!
This one is pretty much done already because I was a part of the Planner’s Intensive earlier this month!
EVOLVE OUR BRAND AND PERFECT OUR SIGNATURE STYLE!
A lot of these goals are really similar to last year’s, including this one. However, we are going to knock this one out of the park this year because (in case you couldn’t tell)
We rebranded!!! We get a new logo, refreshed our website, and spruced up all of our web and printed materials! :O It’s been a big project that I’ve been wanting to do for a few years now and it’s finally the right time! We’re going for a more sophisticated look but still keeping the fundamentals and bright, happy colors around 🙂
SOLIDIFY OUR SYSTEMS a.k.a. CREATE AWESOME PLANNING WORKFLOWS
Each of our packages has a workflow which is basically a to-do list with set deadlines. The problem is that it’s only as useful as you make it so if it’s not detailed enough or if you don’t trust it enough to actually follow it during your planning processes, you may overlook some steps or leave some tasks undone longer than you should.
Planning could be done in a rigid structure with set deadlines and specific tasks to do before the others but the key to our business is that we work in a more fluid and personalized way. We give couples the ability to customize their packages so if they take advantage of that at all then the WHOLE workflow has to change. We’re long overdue to figure our workflow out once and for all and once we get it down, we’ll be set!
CREATE A MARKETING STRATEGY
We’ve had a marketing strategy in the sense that we’ve made strategic choices about what types of advertising to invest in at any given time. But what I really want to do is create some sort of marketing manual that will outline exactly the types of posts we post on all the different social media platforms. That way, when I’m in a rut it will be such a great resource to look back on for ideas!
STRENGTHEN THE PRESENCE OF #COMMUNITYOVERCOMPETITION IN OMAHA BY HAVING 20 ATTENDEES IN A TT MEETING!
I’ll be working hard at this one this year! Strengthening engagement in the group, finding locations that can accommodate more attendees, and really sharing the heart of Rising Tide are some of my top goals! BLOG CONSISTENTLY AND INCREASE THE QUALITY OF OUR POSTS!
Honestly, we were just trying to make it through wedding season alive 😉 so we took an extended break toward the end of last year. Now that we’ve refreshed a bit, I want to start posting 2 days a week again! So many blog ideas coming soon and I’m excited to share our adventures with all of you!

Like I said, a lot of these goals are similar to last year and I consider that to be a good thing! We’ve been able to hone in on what’s important for the long term and by continuing to focus on improving our services, ourselves via education, our marketing, and our professionalism, hopefully we’ll continue to grow steadily!
